Another is when you want a good-sized comfort meal, there are franchise restaurants which won’t let you down. The Wood Ranch BBQ and Grill is one such place, with great plates of ribs or barbequed half chicken, drenched in their signature sauce. You can choose a couple of sides to go with your entrée that can be wicked, such as smashed sweet potatoes; or virtuous, like a mountain of steamed broccoli. There is a Wood Ranch restaurant in the Dos Lagos complex.
For modern Mexican, try Luna Kitchen, a favourite with locals. Their guacamole is prepared table-side, so can’t get any fresher. The Cerviche de la Casa is a crowd pleaser, with fresh red snapper marinated in honey citrus and served with spicy mango salsa.

What to see and do in Corona, Los Angeles
Holidays can be a stressful business, so start with a wind down at Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa. They have been welcoming guests here for 150 years, and the complex includes natural mineral baths, as part of 19 different pools. The Fender Museum of Music and the Arts has hundreds of guitars to see, with memorabilia from many famous artists. It has a specialist Johnny Cash exhibit, giving insight to his life. Get some retail therapy at the Shops at Dos Lagos, an upscale outdoor shopping centre. It’s a pleasant place to be, built around two lakes with cascading waterfalls and bamboo bridges. There are swish stores, restaurants and movie theatres. Just park up the campervan and get shopping.
